About Petr
A path of the heart that began in Beijing
My name is Petr Kolář and I am a practitioner of traditional Chinese and holistic medicine. I don’t just look for what hurts – I look for why it hurts.

2019, the year of the Earth Pig
How a mechanical engineer became a Chinese medicine practitioner
I was born in 1995, the year of the Wood Pig, so 2019 was my zodiac year – and it showed. Thanks to our wish to study and see the world, a friend and I got a place through the Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice to spend a whole semester in Beijing.
For the trip I had T-shirts made with Chinese slogans: “Make me your best dish with vegetables” and “I don’t eat meat, I only eat vegetables”. Passers-by found them amusing – and it was because of them that the first and most important person of the whole stay started talking to us.
Lu was a young Chinese man who had just come back from the Czech Republic and wanted to make friends with us. We went out for meals together, practised English and Chinese – and in time we found out that he was a doctor of Chinese medicine. Acupuncture, Tuina massage, osteopathy. In the hospital he treated 30–40 patients a day. He showed us how he worked with others and with us.
A few questions, the pulse and the tongue were all he needed – and things could start to happen.
After I came home, I invited Lu to stay with us at weekends. When I saw how he could bring relief to people I knew, young and old, within a few minutes, my mind was made up. I chose the School of Natural Medicine in Prague, completed its four-year course and added 12 four-day Tuina massage seminars and seminars on medicinal mushrooms.
Today I devote myself fully to therapy and I am glad to help anyone who wants it. Clients most often come to me because of pain and leave with relief and a calmer mind.
Movement is part of therapy too. As an Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher, I teach classes for beginners and experienced students at the Yogastation Tábor studio and also offer private lessons – find out more on the Yoga with Petr page.

today
Vědomě ke zdraví
I help people find their own path to health – so that they feel better as soon as possible and also know how to look after themselves: letting go of pain, healing old wounds and opening up to new ways of treating themselves with awareness. I believe that whoever changes themselves also changes the people around them.

What I believe in
How I work and why it makes sense
I work with the connection between mind and body. I will teach you mental techniques, exercises and small everyday habits that support your body. When we create good conditions for the body, it gets a chance to regenerate by itself.
We can look after ourselves preventively and stop problems before they start. If you know your weak points, physical and mental, you can easily strengthen them every day.
“Ideally, a doctor should also be a gardener, because it is in the garden that you can see all the laws of nature, its changes, struggles and the way everything is connected.”
My aim is to guide people towards a conscious life in which they do not need stimulants and are not dependent on anything. Enjoying what we have, helping others and living to the full – that is a path of the heart that always comes back to me.
- I look for the real cause of your problems
- I offer several natural approaches
- I help restore balance to body and mind
- I can also come to your home
