Yoga with Petr – Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga in Tábor

I am a yoga teacher (trained at Yoga Experience Center) and completed a six-month course in the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series with Láďa Pokorný. At the Yogastation Tábor studio I teach the primary series – led classes for beginners, Mysore classes for experienced students – and I also offer private lessons.

Breath, movement and calm in one

For me, yoga is a natural continuation of therapy. In the treatment room we release the body and find the cause of the problem – on the mat you learn to look after yourself, every week, without depending on anyone else. The classes are not about performance or perfect postures, but about conscious movement in the rhythm of your own breath.

Why Ashtanga Vinyasa

Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga links postures into a flowing sequence in which every movement is accompanied by an inhalation or an exhalation. This warms, stretches and strengthens the body at the same time – and the mind, occupied with the breath, calms down.

The foundation is the primary series, a fixed sequence of postures. Because the sequence repeats, you quickly find your way around it, and after a few classes you notice for yourself how your mobility, strength and breathing are changing. I completed yoga teacher training at Yoga Experience Center in Prague and followed it with a six-month course in the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series with Láďa Pokorný.

Three ways to practise with me

  1. Led classes for beginners – we go through the whole primary series together, posture by posture, with modifications to suit you. You learn the breath that carries the whole class, and we finish with a short meditation.
  2. Mysore classes for experienced students – everyone practises the sequence on their own, at their own pace and as far as they can go. I move around the room, give hands-on adjustments and help where I can see that small adjustments can make a targeted difference.
  3. Private lessons – just you and me. I adapt the pace, postures and length to your body, experience and any health limitations.

I bring joy and lightness to my classes. Yoga does not have to be serious to work.

How yoga connects with traditional Chinese medicine

Chinese medicine is based on the free flow of energy, qi. Regular movement combined with breathing supports it just as massage does – only you give it to yourself. That is why I warmly recommend yoga to my clients – with a desk job, the more dynamic Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga; with physical work, rather Hatha yoga for slow flow and pleasant calm. And anyone who comes to yoga first will also get to know me as a TCM practitioner, should they need more.

Questions and answers

What people ask most often

Didn’t find your answer? Call or write – I’m happy to explain.

Do I need to know yoga already?

No. Beginners start in led classes, where you try out the whole dynamic primary series. For the more demanding postures I offer easier modifications that gradually prepare your body for the full posture. With regular practice you can progress quickly. More experienced students deepen their practice by working with bandhas (energy locks), drishti (gaze points) and ujjayi breath.

What is the difference between a led class and a Mysore class?

In a led class everyone practises together and I guide the sequence posture by posture – ideal for beginners. In a Mysore class everyone practises the primary series on their own, at their own pace and as far as they can go. Meanwhile I move around the room, give hands-on adjustments and help with the postures you are struggling with. Mysore is suitable once you know the sequence.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes. A private lesson is a good choice if you want to start calmly without a group, need to adapt the practice to a health limitation, or want to work through particular postures in detail. We agree the date, place and price directly.

How do I book a place and how do I pay?

You book group classes online in the Yogastation studio’s booking system – the link on this page shows only my classes. Prices, payment and class passes are handled directly by the studio. Private lessons are arranged with me via the form, by phone or by e-mail.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes you can move freely in. We practise barefoot. I recommend not eating for 2–4 hours before the class and not drinking during it. You will find everything else at the studio – mats, blocks, rings, straps, blankets, tea and water.

Can I combine yoga with TCM therapy?

Yes, but I take an individual approach. If someone has, for example, misaligned shoulder blades, cervical vertebrae or pelvis, I recommend therapy first to correct the imbalance, and only then starting yoga, which strengthens the body evenly. If you have any health problems, tell me before the class – I will advise you on what to be careful about.

“Where there is harmony, there is health.”

Shall we take the first step together?

Book a diagnosis or a massage. I will get back to you within 24 hours and we will find a time that suits you.
