Why we start with the details
Whether you are troubled by pain, fatigue, excess weight or other problems, a detailed diagnosis always comes first. I need to know the main cause, your constitution, your strengths and weaknesses, your current condition, past injuries and any medication you take.
The more details I find out, the more accurate the diagnosis and the better I understand the situation you are in. The same thing can be a medicine for one person and a poison for another.
What I do during the diagnosis
Traditional Chinese medicine reads the body as a whole. Over the course of an hour we go through:
- Conversation – sleep, digestion, energy during the day, cravings, emotions.
- Pulse – its quality on both wrists indicates the state of the individual organs.
- Tongue – its colour, coating and shape reflect internal heat, cold or dampness.
- Iris – iridology shows your constitution and long-term strain.
- Palpation – reflex zones and acupuncture points respond sensitively where the body needs care.
From this I determine the main syndrome and suggest a therapy tailored to you: Tuina massage, acupressure, herbs, mushrooms, changes to your diet or exercises. If you are also interested in the connection with the mind, we can continue with ego diagnostics.
“The sooner, the better.” Once we understand what our problems are trying to tell us, we have already taken the first step towards dealing with them.
My guide to a healthy life
Take responsibility for your health into your own hands. Laugh at least five times a day. Deal with problems instead of putting them off. Enjoy everything in moderation and treat yourself to what you love. Tidy up your home, your body and your mind. Listen to your feelings and your intuition. And with trust and love for yourself and others, keep following your own path.
